Heroine, today I’m inviting you to see the world through a lens of wonder—literally.
Your prompt for Day 5:
Take a photo of a beautiful outdoor scene and share it with the group using #LoveTheWild.
It doesn’t have to be a sweeping mountain view or a perfectly framed sunrise. Sometimes, the most breathtaking beauty is in the smallest details—a pattern of frost on a leaf, the light filtering through bare branches, or the joy in your dog’s face on a walk.
Think of your photo as a story—a moment that says something about what the wild means to you. What drew you to that view? What emotions does it stir?
Share your photo in the comments or on Substack Notes, and tag it with #LoveTheWild. Let’s fill the community with wild inspiration, one image at a time.
The world is waiting to be seen through your eyes.
Jill

I can't figure out how to share a photo, so I'm just going to describe my favorite view these days. (It's the cover photo on my FB page if you want to check it out.) Anyway, there is a nature preserve near my house that we've been going to since I was a kid. There's woods, with lots of trails, and then it transitions to sand dunes, and then suddenly, there's Lake Michigan, and an awesome beach that hardly anyone goes to because it's too far of a walk (for some, not me!) I love the view of the lake that emerges as you come over the dunes--vast, expansive, not just a lake... I recall a German exchange student we hosted years ago asking, "Michigan has its own sea?" Right now, that view is wintry and gorgeous, with dune grass popping through the snow and making patterns on it when it's windy, the snow and ice is piling up on the lake shore, with a hint of pink or blue depending on the time of day. Most days, I hardly see anyone out there, but it is truly a beautiful place in the winter.
