Our Home Away from Home: The Omena House Our retreat is set in the picturesque village of Omena, where a beautiful, welcoming home awaits. With 10 bedrooms, stunning views of Omena and Grand Traverse Bays, and warm gathering spaces, it’s the perfect setting to unwind and connect. Relax on the sun porch, share meals on the deck, and take in the calming beauty of our surroundings.
Weekend Itinerary:
Friday 4/25: Arrive anytime after 5:00 p.m. to settle in and enjoy a warm welcome with appetizers as we kick off our weekend together.
Saturday 4/26: Start your day with a nourishing breakfast (8:00-10:00 a.m.), then choose your own adventure! Walk to Leelanau Cellars Winery, browse local art galleries, search for Petoskey stones on the beach, rent a bike for a scenic ride, or try your luck at the Peshawbestown casino. The day is yours to enjoy as you please. Lunch is on your own, then we’ll regroup for a healthy, delicious dinner (6:30-7:30 p.m.), followed by a guided book discussion around the fire, reflecting on the story while surrounded by the very region it was set in.
Sunday 4/27: Breakfast (8:00-9:00 a.m.) starts our final morning, with check out at 10:00 a.m., followed by a group hike at Leelanau State Park, where we can soak up one last look at Lake Michigan together. We’ll wrap up with a farewell lunch at The Cove in Leland (self-pay), leaving with new friendships and wonderful memories.
Coffee, tea, and creamer will be provided each morning, and feel free to bring along your own beverages to enjoy throughout the weekend.
Reservations: Our cozy retreat offers various room options to suit your comfort and budget, from shared bunk spaces to private rooms. Prices for the weekend range from $100 for an upper bunk in a shared room to $400 for a private room with a queen bed and private half-bath. Interested in sharing a room with a friend?
