Fair warning: Gabriel Tallent's My Absolute Darling might not seem like a walk in the park at first glance, but trust me, you NEED to read this book (as long as the first two things I mention don't freak you out). I devoured it, though some Goodreads folks had mixed feelings. Yes, it's controversial, but it's also a powerhouse of a story.
